Villain. (Also villein). Medieval. Originally, an enslaved Englishman. From the French-Carolingian vilani. (See endnote no. 5).
Yeoman. (Also yeomanry; yeomen). The founders of England. From “yew-man,” a member of the citizen-archers, after the premier wood for making bows, the English yew tree. It was the “yew-men” of the Angles and Saxons who used their bows to defeat King Vortigern and the Celtic army and create the country of “Angle-land” (England).
